All about us

We’re an adventurous family who, two years ago, began an exciting new chapter here in South Africa!

Pete, a South African, and Judith, originally from the Netherlands, bring together a rich blend of cultures and perspectives. Together with our two boys — Dylan (14) and Ethan (12) — life is always lively and full of adventure.

Dylan was born on the tropical island of Aruba, while Ethan started his journey in the rolling hills of the English countryside — two very different beginnings for two equally adventurous spirits.

Completing our family is Bella, our spirited four-year-old Jack Russell. She’s our little bundle of energy — curious, playful, and always ready to explore (and share her opinions with a few enthusiastic barks!). 🐾

In April 2024, we took a leap of faith, moved to this stunning country, and launched our dream business. South Africa’s natural beauty and sense of possibility drew us here — and we’ve fallen in love with its people, landscapes, and lifestyle.

When we’re not hard at work at L’Abri, you’ll find us:
• Walking along the beach
• Surfing or kite surfing on windy days
• Exploring the outdoors together as a family
• Or simply chasing sunsets and making unforgettable memories.

For us, life here is about embracing adventure, enjoying the simple things, and creating a home where our guests feel truly welcome.
